A brief history of the number

This captivating number has a rich history dating back to the 1920s during the Prohibition era in the USA. It was a clever enticement used by the owners of underground bars to lure in customers. The mysterious ambiance of music, alcohol, and a half-naked beauty showering herself with champagne make up the perfect recipe for an unforgettable evening.

The first legendary performer to make a splash in a champagne glass was Rita Atlanta (Alexander) in the 1950s, coining the term "Champagne Girl."

In the 2000s, the influential dancer Dita Von Teese revitalized the burlesque genre and flawlessly brought this number back to life in its original form, setting a new standard of excellence.
